EU Erasmus Bike Stop

Bike-stop for social inclusion: “From guest to host” is a social innovation project supporting the inclusion of people in society at risk of exclusion.

A partnership of organisations from Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Serbia, Germany and the UK presented this project. The main work focused on developing a shared innovative model of social inclusion where it was challenging to identify employment opportunities. Our target group included people who are homeless or who are experiencing temporary difficulty due to socio-economic factors.

We wanted to participate in this project to help individuals around Europe move from dependency to independence. We also wanted to develop an exciting approach to short-term homelessness.

In the first half of the project, we researched youth homelessness in the UK, specifically in Luton and Bedfordshire. We discovered ways of engaging, training and housing homeless young people or individuals at risk of social exclusion. In the second half of the project, we visited events and training hosted by our partners in their countries. MSHA also hosted training and events for the project.
